Finding Peace in People: An Open Letter to the Anxious Seller

I’ve been in the real estate industry for the better part of a decade, and I used to tell my first-time homebuyers, “You’ll know you have found your home when you walk through the door and it feels right in your innermost parts.”

When I bought my house, I had searched for months before finding my home in a sleepy town outside of Nashville. It needed some work, but I saw its limitless potential, and a vision of my future unfolded before me. This was the place I would raise my children, create new traditions, and make memories I’d cherish forever. I had found my own little corner of the world where I could welcome dear friends and strangers who needed refuge. I would fling open the door and pull them into my arms, inviting them into my sacred, safe space. To me, this house wasn’t just my sanctuary, but a tool to protect those who desperately needed to find the love that pulses in the air within its walls. A pink glow from the neon sign on my living room wall can be seen from the street, a beacon of feminine joy that was hard won and is fiercely protected.

Buying a home is taking a leap of faith. Owning a home is an investment of your blood, sweat and tears. There will be incredibly inconvenient repairs, delightfully cracking open paint cans containing hues of your own choosing, and late night conversations with the people you love the most. The memories created and contained within a home are preciously held close to the chest with loving reverence.

Much like the first time I walked through the door of the house that is now my haven, I walked into My Tennessee Home Solution’s office for the first time and immediately knew this was the right place for me. After many years in the business, I found Trey, Jordan, and the MTHS team to be a much-needed breath of fresh air. The way they speak to and about one another, the tenderness they exhibit toward their most vulnerable clients, and the mission reflected in their eyes blew me away. The decision to come on board was also a leap of faith, but much like my little house, these folks have surrounded and protected me, and made a space for me to call my own.

The way this team pulls together to solve problems, create and execute goals, and encourage one another is a testament to tenaciously intentional leadership. The home I have found in them is a profoundly personal gift that allows me to be proud of who they are as people and as a company. Because of this environment, I have been elevated in my ability to take care of folks going through hard times and grappling with the bittersweet process of selling a house that means as much to them as mine does to me. Whether you’re selling your childhood home for your elderly parents, have fallen on financial hardship, are navigating complex probate issues in the wake of a loss, or are just ready for your next adventure, we have the means, experience and heart to surround you, too.
